Use a Biodiesel Kit to Save Money
Have you filled up you car lately? It's scary watching
the dollars add up like some sort of out of control stop watch while the
gallon meter barely moves. If watching the price of gasoline has got you
scared then maybe it's time to think about an alternative fuel source.
Biodiesel is one such alternative that you can make right in your own
backyard. The idea of saving money and protecting the environment through a
renewable fuel source has been a theory not readily put into use over the
years.
Purchasing a biodiesel fuel kit may be just the answer to our high fuel
price woes. A biodiesel kit can convert vegetable oil, canola oil or soy oil
into a form of diesel fuel that can be burned by vehicles with diesel
engines. If you already own a diesel powered vehicle then you can seriously
consider the use of biodiesel fuel. While the upfront cost can be several
thousand dollars the money you save over the lifetime of biodiesel
production will more than pay for your biodiesel kit.
Making biodiesel with a kit a a relatively simple task. You can set up the
kit anywhere and most people prefer an outdoor location such as a shed or
covered area. The ingredients needed include tap water, methanol and some
form of vegetable oil. You can even use recycled oil from say restaurants
that use it for frying food. They usually have big dumpsters full of the
stuff just waiting to be pumped out. Make sure you ask first though. It will
take longer to process used cooking oil then if you use fresh oil, but the
used stuff can usually be obtained for free. If you happen to be sitting on
a large amount of used cooking oil then this could be the perfect way to
dispose of it.
There are different kits that sale for different prices. Obviously the
higher the price the more features and better performance you will get. It
is recommended that you purchase a closed system which will eliminate any
unpleasant odors or fumes that may be emitted.
With the rising price of gasoline making all the news headlines the idea of
making your own fuel for years to come could be an exceedingly smart move.
Imagine never having to worry about the price of gas again?
